This venue. This couple. This gown. I loved everything about this Cellar 52 wedding. As a new and upcoming venue just outside of Kitchener in St. Jacobs, Ontario, it is a hip spot for intimate weddings. The thing I loved most about this venue was all the natural light that was available should the weather not cooperate. It allows many options for both indoor and outdoor photos.
When prep began with the guys, I was surprised to find an empty room with just all of their stuff. The guys had decided to go and grab some lunch somewhere in St. Jacobs. So I began taking some details photos of Dylan’s things until they returned.
When I was done with Dylan’s details, I headed over to the beautiful bridal suite where Alexa was. This bridal suite was stunning! It had all the natural light I adore, crisp clean lines, and minimal decor. Honestly, one of my favorite bridal suites I have been to.
Alexa was just finishing up her hair and makeup when I arrived. So I snagged a few photos before we took the ladies out to the foyer to do some toasts in their robes.
I absolutely love that black and white photo of Alexa and her girls. I can not pinpoint why, but I just love it.
Next up on the wedding timeline, the first look! We did these across the street on a patio, where there was no one around. I remember Dylan being very nervous but excited to see his bride. Up the stairs, Alexa came and tapped him on the shoulder. When Dylan turned around he had the biggest smile.
We then proceeded to take some bride and groom portraits before the ceremony.
This ceremony space was beautiful. They chose to have their ceremony indoors in front of the fireplace instead of outside on the patio. I really liked this choice. Their ceremony literally had me and all their guests in laughter the entire time. While it did have some more sentimental moments, this ceremony was so laid back and really a good blend of them as a couple. I really loved it!
Spot the fake ring bling that Dylan surprised Alexa with.
Alexa girl, I see you checking out that new ring!
Post ceremony we took off to wander around St. Jacobs for a few more photos while the sun was going down.
It was almost reception time and while guests were enjoying cocktail hour on the patio, I took advantage of the empty space to capture some detail photos for them.
Again, another hilarious moment in the day, when the MC came strutting into the reception hall dressed as a women. Seriously, the whole room was in laughter.
Once dinner and toasts were all done, the couple enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife while they were surrounded by their guests. Then they took to the dancefloor with their parents. But then, things got wild! The dance floor was booming and their guests were having the time of their lives.
One thing I love to do is sneak my couples away for some dusk photos. This patio at Cellar 52 was the perfect location.
If you are loving this wedding, be sure to check out another gorgeous one here. I can’t wait until I can be back at Cellar 52 for another intimate wedding.
