Downtown Kitchener really does offer some unique locations for engagement sessions. For this lovely duo, they met while working downtown at Manulife, so it was an easy choice for them to pick the location for their shoot. For their session, we were blessed with a beautiful day. They also brought along their sweet little pup.
We began our session downtown at Victoria Park. This is a very popular park in Kitchener that is home to a beautiful wedding venue, hosts city events and where lots of families go in the summer for picnics and to cool down in the splashpad.
On this particular day, the park was quite empty to our surprise, but I was totally ok with it. When couples ask if they can bring along their pets I am always game, I mean, who could say no to those cute little faces.
Also in the park is a gazebo that sits under the willow trees. We took the opportunity to sit and take a break while there was no one also enjoying the gazebo. I think it is safe to say that the pup also enjoyed the snuggles.
As we made our way through the park, we talked about how they met, what their wedding plans are and took the time to get to know each other, my favourite part of any session.
Once we were finished with the park, we walked closer into the downtown centre and found a little coffee shop called Balzac’s in the Tannery district of Kitchener. I really liked the modern feel this added to their session.
Before I knew it their session had come to an end. It was a lot of fun and I think we tired out the pup by the end of it.
If you liked this session, I would highly recommend another urban styled shoot from Uptown Waterloo with Mike and Laura! You can see that here.
