Riverwood Mansion Wedding Workshop

Workshop? I have never been to one so I did not really know what to expect but here is a preview into my first wedding workshop I did last year.

All I can say about my experience at Julie Paisley’s Wedding Workshop in Nashville, TN is WOW! I attended this workshop in June 2015 at Julie’s home cottage just on the outskirts of downtown Nashville. However, my journey began was a super nice stranger picked me up from the airport, took me for a small tour through Music Row & downtown Nashville stopping for lunch at Puckett’s where I had my first ever cherry cobbler. Ok I am not crazy enough to let some stranger do this for me, am I? Morgan, also a workshop attendee, is local to Nashville and was generous enough to not leave me stranded at the airport, so thank you Morgan.

 

Needless to say, we were beyond excited when we pulled up the gravel drive way to the cottage, this was actually happening, I had made it. Upon arrival we were completely smitten with the layout and styling that Julie had done. It was so her!

Julie had placed a welcome bag for each of us girls that included a bath bomb, notebook, pen, and some chocolate goo goo’s. Just an fyi if you have not had a goo goo go out and buy some today! They are amazing. Over the next couple of days we sat and chatted weddings, which was heaven for me. Hearing what these girls has to say and being able to relate was incredibly refreshing. You know how somedays you feel like you are all alone in this industry. 

When it came to the styled shoot day I could not wait. Julie had arranged for us to go to Riverwood Mansion, this place was stunning! The entire session was a complete dream. A Nashville sunset was pure perfection. The colour pallet, the dress, the florals.

Overall I would highly recommend anyone looking to get into wedding photography or who is a wedding photographer to participate in one of Julie’s workshops. Meeting all these fabulous girls was just as exciting as some of the valuable information I was able to bring back and incorporate into my business structure. I can only anticipate my return to attend one of Julie’s film workshops hopefully in 2017!
