Where do I even begin to describe this beautiful Ancaster Mill Wedding? Nicole & Pete had a very beautiful winter wedding at one of the Pearle Wedding and Events venues this past Saturday. It was a beautiful winter day and the snow was falling so magically. To my surprise upon arrival, there were many magical Disney touches spread throughout the day. From decor to their vows, it was Disney inspired. Obviously, I was super excited for the unexpected surprise. It is without a doubt that Nicole did not overlook a single detail. I think the thing I loved most was her blue sparkle mittens that her grandmother had stitched snowflakes onto to go with her winter wedding theme. I can say without a doubt, that Pete’s reaction to seeing Nicole during their first look is hands down the best expression I have ever seen. For a moment there it was a little touch and go if he would be my first groom to faint, but he, as their hankies said, Kept his shit together. For wedding party photos we spent some time on the grounds at the Ancaster Mill but also took a small drive down the road to Sherman Falls. This beautiful waterfall added a unique backdrop for their wedding day photos.
Soon it was ceremony time. With the lights dimmed and the disney instrumentals playing guests quietly entered the Ancaster Mill chapel and found their seats. Again, with all eyes on Pete as Nicole made her entrance, he had the most perfect reaction to his bride making her way down the aisle to him. Nicole, absolutely stunning in her gown, had her parents by her side. With the exchanging of rings, the reading of vows, the signing of the registry and a beautiful sand ceremony, it was time for the first kiss as husband and wife to seal the deal. With excitement in their eyes and love in their hearts the newlyweds made their way down the aisle as a married couple.
Ok, lets chat about their reception! While yes it was full of great toasts and stories, the meal was delicious, the drinks were served cold but the dancing and party was off the hook! Nicole and Pete had a small table of props for a DIY photo booth which of course made their way to the dance floor. This, also made for some great photos. However, I think for me it was the bouquet toss that did it for me. Not once has Grandma ever been the one to make the pounce and win! She came to the dance floor with her game face on. But the moment that got me and literally brought me to tears was when Nicole took to the dance floor with her Grandfather. Sometimes, just for a moment, I will put my camera down and just watch. It was in this moment that I could see tears starting to build in Nicole’s eyes. It was clear she was thinking about Grandma, the women who was in the locket attached to her bouquet. A moment that I knew I had to capture. So up the camera went and down the tears fell. It was a moment I will never forget.
Nicole and Pete, I wish you both years of happiness and adventure together. You are clearly made for each other and love each other dearly. It was a pleasure being able to capture your wedding day and I hope to see you both in the near future.
