This Disney fairytale wedding is one for the books. I mean, how can getting married at the happiest place on earth not be. I remember when I first met Steph and Patrick. We had a super fun engagement session at Walt Disney World last year. I remember how much in love they were. How happy and bubbly they were. It was in this moment that I was even more excited for their wedding day. Their Disney fairytale wedding was everything that wedding dreams are made of.
The morning of the wedding was an early start. My morning began with the bride and her maids. They were getting ready at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Which is stunning. The girls were in the final touches of hair and makeup when I arrived. The amazing team from Fairytale Hair and Makeup did a fabulous job on these ladies. I should mention, that the hair and makeup lasted all day and night through the hot summer Florida heat. As always, I started with photographing the bridal details. This is always a fun part of the wedding day for me. I love seeing the gowns that each bride chose. But this gown. Oh my lanta, this gown. First, I fell in love with the blush pink that Steph chose. Then I saw all the sparkle detailing on the tool. This Hayley Paige gown from Annalise Bridal was flawless. I was so excited to have Steph in it. It was the perfect gown for twirling. Lots and lots of twirling. As a little something borrowed, Steph wore her Grandmothers pearl necklace. They also came in a beautiful engraved wooden heart box. I almost teared up when her mother told me about it.
Soon everyone was ready and it was time for the first look. Upon arrival, Patrick was already in place and waiting to see his gorgeous wife to be. All it took was a slight tap on the shoulder and Patrick turned around. The look of happiness and love was all over their faces. With a big smile I remember hearing Steph say ” Do you like my dress” and then gave a big twirl. Steph and Patrick always wanted to do a gift exchange. Steph told me what she got for Patrick and I was so excited to see his reaction. She got him a custom made vinyl pop figure of him in his favourite shirt. While Patrick gifted Steph with gold medallions. Each medallion had a different symbol and meant something different. Almost like a blessing for their marriage and life together. Both very thoughtful ideas. Well done team!
I do not normally talk to much about the formal photo time, but my goodness! The lighting we had this morning was absolutely breathtaking. The backlight had that warm florida back glow and I was hooked. Ya, that is pretty much all I need to say about that.
Next up on the day, Cinderella’s Coach was coming to pick up our princess Steph. I am always like a kid on Christmas morning when I get to see this coach. And Steph fit it ever so royally. With her parents by her side, they headed off to the Disney wedding pavilion. It was almost wedding time.
One of my favourite Disney fairytale wedding ceremony locations is the iconic wedding pavilion. The details and decor alone make this a great backdrop. But, the best part is the view of Cinderella’s Castle through the stainless window. The perfect fit for any princess. It was a beautiful ceremony. Steph had her father walk her down the aisle. With the biggest smile on his face, you could tell her was proud of his little girl. Steph and Patrick exchanged rings, their vows and a kiss and became husband and wife. The couple made a very happy walk back down the aisle before we headed to picture point. Again, how about that lighting. Before the couple headed out on their just married carriage cruise, they had a surprise for their guests. While making their walk down the wedding pavilion bridge, guests starting blowing their Cinderella Coach bubble wands. This made for an some fun photos. But the best was yet to come. The couple stopped for a kiss and just then rose petal confetti cannons went off. It was a pretty magical moment and the photos speak for themselves. Before heading to their reception, we spent some time doing some more photos in and around the wedding pavilion.
Meanwhile, their guests headed over to the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, where the reception would take place. I really love this space. Not only does it offer an amazing view of Disney’s Magic Kingdom, but it also boasts ton of natural light. The room was decorated very simply, as it is beautiful all on its own. Steph & Patrick had named each table a different Disney dog character. Which was super cute. Their seating chart also had a custom illustration of them with their pups. Should we talk about their cake? Not only was it delicious, but Steph had places a tiny Spiderman on it to surprise Patrick. What can I say about the food. It is always perfection. And I mean, who does not love a good Mickey waffle.
Although this was a midday wedding, the reception was off the hook! I will be completely honest in saying that I have never seen a dance floor more live for a brunch wedding. Their guests were there to have a great time. However, like most weddings, the dancing began with the couple. Followed by the parent dances. Am I still the only one who gets super teary when the bride dances with her father? ugh such a soft spot for me. But I think one of the highlights of the day is when Steph & Patrick surprised their guests with some friends who were not on the seating chart. They had decided to add a few character experiences to their day. Starting off with Mickey & Minnie. Followed by Goofy. And just when you think the day can not get any better, Steph had 1 more trick up her sleeve. Pluto! Patrick loves Pluto and Steph kept him a surprise. The reaction when Patrick saw him coming was priceless. Pure Disney magic.
At this point, it was almost 3pm. All the formalities of a wedding day were coming to and end. But this is not where the fun stopped. Steph and Patrick had a whole evening of fun planned as well. A dessert party in Italy Pavilion at Epcot! And an added bonus, they did a Soarin’ ride mix in as well. I tell ya, this wedding was super fun from beginning to end. We had the best time with Steph and Patrick. Not to mention, their family and friends are just as sweet as they are. I can not wait to see you both again in the future.
