Iberostar sure knows a thing or two about destination weddings. If there is one thing I know for sure after this wedding it is that. Celine and Ryan travelled from Ontario, Canada down to Montego Bay, Jamaica, with a large group of family and friends for their seaside wedding. The location? The Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, and let me tell you, this resort was fabulous. It was my first time at this resort and I honestly can only hope that I will get to photograph another wedding here in the near future.
So a fun fact about this wedding is that I know Ryan and Celine personally. I have known Celine for about 5 years now but have known Ryan since he was in Kindergarten. I went to school with his older sister Ashley. So this wedding was very special for me to photograph, also very emotional, there were
I am going tell you a little bit about the new Mr. & Mrs Schwartz. They grew up in the same city, actually just down the street from one another, went to the same elementary school and everything, but never crossed paths. It was not until the best man introduced them one night at a bar and that was that. Fast forward to May 8, 2019, and they became husband and wife.
Like most wedding days, I began my day with the ladies in the oceanview suite. When I arrived, the ladies were getting their hair and makeup done. All the accessories were out and ready for me to play with. This was also the time I got a glance at the gown and WOW! This dress was stunning. It honestly could not have been a better match for Celine. And she absolutely wore it perfectly. We decided to do a small reveal with her girls and I am so glad we did. Their reactions to seeing Celine all done up were genuine and emotional.
Now I can’t forget the guys, they played an important role in this day as well. You see, they had all the music, pizza and Red Stripe Beer in their room. They were living it up in Jamaica. Always lots of laughs and confusion with the groomsman though when it comes to trying to figure out how to put on the suspenders or boutonniere, they crack me up. This is where my expertise comes into play. But soon, they were all ready and looking handsome as ever.
It was almost
We spend the rest of the afternoon taking fun photos around the resort with the wedding party while the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour with the steel drum band on the beach. However, the day was not over. There was a sheer tent set up on the beach for their reception. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, far too many drinks and danced the night away before they shut it down and the party moved to the Iberostar Disco.
Overall this day is one I will never forget. We also did some really fun photos the next day on the beach with you can see here.
