Palm trees and the gulf coast breeze is all we needed for this wonderful fall Florida destination wedding. This wedding brought me down to Cape Haze, Florida along the white sandy beached of the gulf coast. The venue, Palm Island Resort.
About a year or so before the wedding, Allie had reached out to me about possibly photographing her wedding. She heard from me from a past wedding client whose wedding I captured at The Lange Farm not too long before. We spent time chatting on the phone and social media and before we knew it, it was wedding time.
My day began with the guys. Kicking it low key in their condo while drinking some beers, shaving and making jokes. I always enjoy doing groom prep because I do not get to do it very often, typically I am usually with the bride while my second photographer heads to the groom. But this wedding I was shooting solo. So I got the pleasure to do both.
When I arrived at the bridal condo it was full of laughter and excitement. Hair and makeup was still happening and the girls were having a blast. As always, I started my process with all the wonderful bridal details. From the gown to the jewellery, we photograph it all. I really loved Allie’s details though. The rose gold was a perfect addition to her wedding palette.
I will admit I am one who loves when couples do a first look. But this one was extra special. They decided to read private vows to each other in private before their ceremony. With some tears, smiles and laughter, it was a beautiful moment captured. It was so nice to be able to witness this moment.
Now with the perfect weather in forecast, we all hopped into our golf carts and headed towards the beachfront ceremony location. With all the chairs lined up and florals in place, it was time to get down to business. One of my favourite parts of this wedding was they had Allie’s daughter pronounce them as husband and wife and their first kiss. Again, another perfect personal touch.
With dinner done and the sun setting, the couple danced the night away with their family and friends. We enjoyed a nice meal, open bar and believe me when I say, this wedding was rocking. To end the night off, the couple chose to have a sparkler sendoff. Perfect ending if you ask me. Thank you to Palm Island Resort for hosting a terrific wedding.
