Summer love, isn’t it just the most beautiful thing. I have been looking forward to this engagement session with Kristina and Shaun since they asked me to photograph their wedding. After two rescheduled dates due to weather, we finally were able to make it happen this past weekend. When they mentioned that they were wanting to bring along their pooch, Potter, I knew the perfect location for them. Huron Natural Area, is a beautiful hidden gem in Kitchener-Waterloo. We were so blessed with beautiful weather for this engagement session. I should also note that we had minimal mosquitos. Which is great since both Shaun and I seem to both be allergic to them. So YEAH! Sometimes it is the little things in life. I wanted to include a bunch of photos of Potter because look how cute his face is. After many treats and one chewed through lease, he survived his first photo session.
A little back story on these two. I met them while we were photographing their friends wedding in the Mayan Riviera. My husband and I were do to photo and video for their friends. Being very social people, we like to hang out with the wedding group while travelling. Well, this group was indeed a lot of fun and we made some lifelong friends from it. Kristina and Shaun matched our personalities perfectly. After several games of Cards Against Humanity, it was clear that our humour was on point. From then on, we stayed in touch. So when I found out that Shaun had proposed to Kristina in Portugal last summer I was secretly hoping they would ask me to be their photographer. Then they did.
The two are set to wed June 15, 2019. Shaun and Kristina, thank you so much for this fun session. I look forward to many more double dates before the wedding and hitting up the dance floor with you on your wedding night. xo.
